A small amount of preparation can prevent a long drive from being ruined by forgotten gear.

Digging Gear

Pack a clam gun or shovel, catch container, license, gloves, and a way to rinse or contain sandy equipment afterward.

Bring waterproof boots, warm layers, rain protection, and dry replacement clothing. Add a headlamp when the dig overlaps darkness.

Water, snacks, a towel, garbage bags, a cooler, and basic first-aid supplies are useful additions for a longer beach trip.
